Mourning Lullaby

No limit to how far I can spread
My body wide across my bed

My legs can move from side to side
I can sleep straight thru the night
Alls still under my linen sheets
I don't have to cringe from frozen feet
No early searches for missing socks
Or pants, or shoes, no silly talks

But when I wake up to the sun
I admit that you have won
And lying there in my defeat
I long for the cold of your frozen feet
